Boost Your Home Curb Appeal With These Simple Changes

Whether you’re looking to put your house on the market soon or you just want to give your property a post-winter revamp, there are plenty of small changes you can make to instantly boost curb appeal.

We share our favorite landscaping tricks in this post!

Use gravel or garden pebbles

An easy and budget-friendly way to refresh your yard is with gravel, mulch, or river rocks. These materials are low maintenance and easy to install, no matter what you have in mind for a design.

If you have trees and shrubs in your yard with roots that pop out of the ground, use gravel or mulch to cover them up, creating a cleaner aesthetic.

White Marble Chip

You can do the same thing with your flowerbeds, which not only look neat and tidy but improve drainage and prevents weeds from springing up through the soil.

Below are some other quick DIY projects that make great use of landscaping stones and gravel.

  • Design a pebble garden pathway
  • Cover up bare spots in the yard with gravel by creating a sitting area/patio
  • Add a layer of gravel to container plants
  • Edge the driveway or swimming pool with larger river rocks

Small fixer-uppers

Another key element is to focus on the little stuff instead of getting overwhelmed with large-scale projects. Because sometimes, the little things make all of the difference!

For example, instead of painting the entire home, apply a fresh coat of paint to the door, shutters, or trim.

Swap out your mailbox for a new and improved model and while you’re at it, replace your old house numbers as well.

Driveway and patio

If you have a lot of concrete around your property, such as a driveway, patio, or pool deck, there’s nothing like a power wash to completely brighten your home.

Replace or add patio furniture

Create a cozy new outdoor living area by cleaning the patio furniture or investing in new pieces. Rearrange the area and string up outdoor lights or add container plants for a trendy touch of decor.

Build a fire pit area

A gas-powered fire pit adds serious appeal, and the best thing is there is a multitude of designs and DIY options to align with your budget.

Make it fancy by applying a layer of colorful fire glass to the pit for a unique look that dazzles at night when the pit is in use but displays beautifully as a decorative piece during the day.
